Wesley Hospital Ashfield and Kogarah is a leading Sydney mental health hospital owned by Wesley Mission. The Ideas Suite was briefed to amplify Wesley Hospital’s annual Elephant in the Room street campaign, designed to raise awareness about mental health issues during Mental Health Week, in October.
We amplified the previous year’s campaign by:
- Engaging social influencers to raise awareness of the event.
- Inviting celebrities and mental health leaders to the event.
- Inviting media to the event.
- Sending event photos to influencers and the media.
We ensured any third-party involvement was on a volunteer basis.
We engaged 24 social influencers, resulting in 31 posts to an audience of 360,277. We secured 13 media placements, which reached a (repeat) audience of more than 2.3 million.
To the event, we attracted the NSW Waratahs, Australian Mens Sevens, Olympians, National Cricketer Sarah Coyte, and TV personalities Hoda Kobeissi (‘MasterChef’) and Sam Webb (‘Neighbours’, ‘Survivor’), the NRL West Tigers mascot, and the CEO of the NSW Mental Health Commission.
